This final tournament was prepared in a format for 8 teams, two groups of four. The system was absolutely ruthless, if you want to win gold medals, you have to ideally win all 4 matches in the tournament. The team that wins the group goes to the match for gold, the second team in the group plays for bronze and so on. On Friday and Saturday, group matches are played, on Sunday, the match for placement.

Group "A" included WKK Wroclaw , PGE Spójnia Stargard , Academy NH Ostrava and MBK Karlovka Bratislava . Group "B" featured BKM Iskra Svit , NINERS Chemnitz Academy, WKS Slask Wroclaw and Korona 1919 Krakow .

In Group "A" on Friday, WKK defeated Ostrava after a close match. In the second match of the group, Stargard won over Karlovka Bratislava. In Group "B" Slask Wroclaw managed to beat Krakow and Svit won over Chemnitz.

Saturday afternoon offered a great Polish basketball derby between the home team and Stargard. High intensity, balanced match, the lead was exchanged from side to side, in the end the home team took the victory. Karlovka also showed that it deserved to be in the tournament. In the afternoon match, it played a completely balanced duel with the home team and despite the final loss, it showed a nice performance. Ostrava, which entered the match with Stargard disastrously, also showed its strength even with the limited lineup it had at its disposal in this tournament, coming within striking distance from a twenty-point deficit at halftime, but it could not find the strength to break through.

In group "B" the situation was more complicated. First Slask surprised Svit and won in a dramatic match by a single point. When Svit was leading by three points in the final, he had a so-called "bonus foul" and the unexpected happened, he allowed himself to make a three-point basket with a foul one second before the end. Slask converted the free throw. After a time-out, the final action ended with an attempt to smash into the rim, when the ball bounced out and Svit lost. Subsequently, Slask played with the Niners for first place in the group. Something unexpected happened and Slask, as a favorite, lost to the Niners and thanks to this, the mini-table of three teams was decided. The greatest joy was brought to the Slovak team, which reached first place in the group, followed by the Niners and the eyes of WKS Slask Wroclaw team remain with tears.

On Sunday, MBK Karlovka Bratislava defeated Korona 1919 Krakow to move into seventh place. Academy NH Ostrava took a beating from WKS Slask Wroclaw , but it must be added that Ostrava fought bravely and, thanks to a limited squad, put in a fearless performance.

An absolutely amazing match took place in the match for third place. PGE Spójnia Stargard and NINERS Chemnitz Academy show physical play, great individual performances, a completely even match for three quarters, which the German team only wins in the end. You want to watch such a match again and again.

The Grand Final also deserves special attention. BKM Iskra Svit and WKK Wroclaw put in a fantastic performance. In the end, the more collective performance of the home team was decisive, and they deservedly became the winners of The Finals in the U17 category in the 2024/2025 season. Congratulations.

Friday's program began with group matches. Group "A" offered a match between the teams UKS MOS Opole , BK VIVIDBOOKS Pardubice and the home team AK Stal Ostrów Wielkopolski . Group "B" consists of the teams Academy NH Ostrava , BCM Olomouc and BC Swiss Krono Žary .

In group "A" the home team kept pace with the team UKS MOS Opole for a long time. In the end they lost by a difference of eleven points. The second interesting match was the duel between the teams UKS MOS Opole and BK VIVIDBOOKS Pardubice . A very dynamic match, where the Polish team "had everything" and thanks to eight converted three-point shots they won over Beska by fourteen points.

Group "B" offered three clear wins, with Academy NH Ostrava first winning significantly over the Polish team BC Swiss Krono Žary , and then winning similarly over the BCM Olomouc team. Olomouc improved their mood with a significant win over the Polish team BC Swiss Krono Žary .

The teams Academy NH Ostrava , BCM Olomouc , BK VIVIDBOOKS Pardubice and UKS MOS Opole qualify for the semi-finals. The home team and BC Swiss Krono Žary enter the fight for fifth place. In the first match, it looked like they were playing for the most precious metals. A huge fight for every centimeter of the board, emotions, heavy shots, simply a great match, which, however, did not know its winner, as after the end of the regular playing time the score was 75:75. In the case when two winning matches are played, the game is not extended, so we have to wait until Sunday for the team that will win fifth place.

Both semi-finals had an unexpectedly clear course, when first Olomouc clearly sent the team from Opole into the duel for the bronze medals. Subsequently, Ostrava entered its "Ostrava chainsaw massacre" mode and absolutely clearly sent Beksa into the duel for the bronze medals.

Sunday morning was definitely not sleepy, the battle for fifth place offered great basketball, which was decided by an absolutely extraordinary performance of a player BC Swiss Krono Žary . Alan Więckiewicz helped his team by scoring 57 points, of which the balance of six three-pointers and the success rate of 18/17 free throws is respectable.

In the bronze medal match UKS MOS Opole team and BK VIVIDBOOKS Pardubice team competed. Beksa prepared for this match excellently and immediately took the initiative from the beginning of the match and gained a promising lead. In the further course of the match, it only increased its lead and deservedly won the bronze medals. The final match also offered the opportunity to avenge the defeat in the group. However, Olomouc did not take advantage of this offer despite its great effort. Ostrava entered the match very actively and gained a double-digit lead in the first quarter. In the further course of the match, the match became more even, but Olomouc was the team that was still losing significantly in the score. There was no reversal and Academy NH Ostrava team thus won the gold medals and defended its victory from last season.

The final tournament began on Friday with group battles. Group "A" features SKM Zastal Zielona Góra , BK Inter Bratislava , Sršni Písek.

The best performance was by the home team Zastal, who first defeated Inter on Friday and then Písek on Saturday. The fight for the second place in the group is won by Inter without any problems, who defeat Písek by a difference of twenty points. In group "B" the teams BC Swiss Krono Žary , Academy Potsdam , AK Orly Wroclaw compete. Here a dramatic fight took place, right in the first match between Žary and the team AK Orly Wroclaw . After three quarters of an even fight, the team from Žary finally wins for itself in the end. Žary did not have their second match in the group at all easy, when the German team from Potsdam forced them to show their best, the lead flowed from side to side, but in the end the Polish team defended its victory. Potsdam also confirmed its progress on Saturday, although it entered the match poorly, but eventually outplayed the tired Orly.

Play-off. The semi-finals also took place on Saturday. First, the home team challenged Academy Potsdam . SKM Zastal Zielona Góra is slightly behind from the start and, despite Potsdam's great efforts, fails to resist, leaving them with a fight for third place. The second semi-final was much more dramatic, with BC Swiss Krono Žary and BK Inter Bratislava . Žary do not enter the match well and are already losing by a double-digit margin after the first quarter. However, they then switch to a higher gear, losing slightly at half-time, but after the third quarter the score is completely even. In the last act, the lead was exchanged from one side to the other, and luck eventually favored the Polish team, who won by a margin of only three points. In the fifth-place group, AK Orly Wroclaw comfortably won over Sršni Písek .

The highlight of the tournament comes on Sunday in the battle for third and first place. First, the battle for third place, where the home team challenged the Slovak team BK Inter Bratislava . A very competitive match, where the home team took over the activity at first, gaining a small lead by halftime. The decisive part was the third quarter, where Inter took the lead, in the last act the home team finished strongly, but in the end it was not enough and it resulted in an unpopular "potato" medal. And finally, of course, the grand final, which was not as dramatic as one might expect. Podsdam, mainly due to its narrower rotation, loses from the beginning, already at halftime it is behind by twenty points and so the BC Swiss Krono Žary team can celebrate a well-deserved victory in the tournament. It was certainly a great gift for their coach, who celebrated his birthday on the final day.

The home team took control of the match from the beginning and walked away with a clear victory without any problems. In the second match, UKS Piatka Ostrów Wielkopolski team, which completed the tournament participants due to the absence of Beksa from Pardubice, clearly defeated the Czech team Královští Sokoli Hradec Králové . The third match of the day, which offered a Czech derby between the teams BK Brandýs nad Labem and Válečníci Děčín also had a clear course for the team from North Bohemia. A great deal of bad luck was chosen by the WKK Wroclaw team in this tournament, which lost its three matches in the tournament by the narrowest possible difference of a single point. The first on Friday was against UKS Piatka.

Then on Saturday with Hradec Králové and then with Brandýs nad Labem. MBA was a completely balanced opponent for three quarters, but in the last quarter there was a complete defensive collapse, when the French team weighed down their account with thirty-five points and the fate of the match was decided. In the second match, the Czech team Slavoj BK Litoměřice played against the German team Science City Jena . The Czech team showed a nice performance, but was a small step behind throughout the match and as a result lost by a difference of eight points. The third match of the day was played by PGE Spójnia Stargard team against BC Swiss Krono Žary . Stargard completely demolished its Polish opponent and won by a large margin.

On Saturday, Stargard played two tough and balanced games that took a lot of energy. First, the home team, Mitteldeutscher Basketball Academy , showed their best performance in the tournament, winning the first quarter. Stargard then took control of the match and took a slight lead. The last quarter was a tug-of-war for every ball, the home team tried to get closer and turn the lead over to their side, but ultimately failed and lost by six points. Stargard and Litomerice played an absolutely fantastic game. The closest possible win for Stargard was decided only in the second overtime. Slavoj entered the game very actively and held a slight lead over the favorite throughout the first half. In the third quarter, Stargard mobilized their forces and gained a three-point lead. In the fourth quarter, Slavoj took the initiative again and was again several points ahead. We went into overtime when Slavoj was leading by two points and had the ball to throw, which they did, but they messed up the subsequent pass. After the gain, Stargard scored a basket and it went into overtime. In overtime, it was again a big fight for every ball and in the end, luck turned to the Polish team and they took the victory. The match was also decorated with absolutely phenomenal individual performances of individual players, when Gurpreet Singh ( Slavoj BK Litoměřice ) weighed down the opponent's account with forty-five points and for the Polish team PGE Spójnia Stargard Wojciech Krupa scored thirty-three points.

The Polish team entered the match well and gained a slight lead in the first quarter. In the second match, Slavoj made up for the lost matches on Saturday and won over Žary. In the last match of the tournament, the home team Mitteldeutscher Basketball Academy outscored the Science City Jena team. However, in the first half, they gambled a lot with winning the bronze medal, but in the end, they confirmed their win.

In the first match, the home team Sereď defeated the German team of magicians from the city of Crailsheim . The second match offered a Czech derby and, let's say, a very crazy one, starring BCM Olomouc team and Basketpoint Frýdek-Místek team. The first quarter did not bring much basketball joy, only fifteen points were scored. In the second quarter, Olomouc took over and it seemed that by building a double-digit lead, they were taking control of the match. However, the opposite was true, apparently the half-time speech in the locker room had a greater impact on the Basketpoint players and at the end of the third quarter they gained a two-point lead. The last quarter was a tug-of-war for every free ball and in the end, let's say, the luckier team was the team from Frýdek-Místek. In the last match of the first round, the Polish team Korona 1919 Krakow offered a tough fight with Academy NH Ostrava team. What can I say about it - a hall full of testosterone, incredibly difficult physical battles, but in the end the Czech team withstood its experience from such battles better and won by a margin of thirteen points.

Saturday offered two matches that developed differently than the paper predictions suggested. First, the HAKRO Merlins Crailsheim team caught Basketpoint Frýdek-Místek on the back foot. Then, Olomouc surprised Krakow with its active play in the second half and earned a well-deserved win.

On Sunday, Krakow first confirmed their bronze medal win over the HAKRO Merlins Crailsheim team. Although they still had to worry about their position due to a slowdown in the last quarter. The second match offered a direct battle for first place in the tournament between Ostrava and Olomouc, let's say that the guys from Ostrava apparently like Olomouc cheese, because Ostrava really bit into Olomouc from the beginning and left no one in doubt that they were going hard for their own and heading for the gold medals. In the last match of the tournament, Basketpoint easily dealt with the home team Sereďa and was only one basket short of reaching the magical hundred-point mark.

After twelve hours on the train and a night's rest, the German team did not enter the match in the best mood. After half the match, they were losing by a double-digit margin and by the end of the match, they did not even come close to Lokomotiv. In the second match, Vlci Žďár nad Sázavou team challenged the BK VIVIDBOOKS Pardubice team. If we were to express the course of the match figuratively with the animals that both clubs have in their logos, the wolves properly bit the Pardubice thoroughbreds. The last match of the first round of the tournament took place between the teams Nitra Blue Wings Academy and Górnik Airteam Walbrzych . The Polish team gradually lost ground to the Blue Wings in the score and eventually won by a difference of twenty-three points. Friday also offered an interesting statistic, when two matches in a row ended with exactly the same score.

Saturday offered three very interesting matches. The first one was early in the morning, when Vlci Žďár nad Sázavou fought against the UBC Münster team. In this match, the lead was exchanged from side to side, first the Wolves were ahead, then Münster , after the third quarter the situation was practically even. Finally, the Wolves had more power in the end and won by a difference of six points. The second match, which brought an even course, was played by the home team against Nitra. The home team entered the match very actively and led by almost twenty points at halftime. In the third period, Lokomotiva expanded its rotation, there were more inaccuracies and thanks to only four points scored, Nitra came closer by a few points in the score. In the last part of the match, Plzeň controlled the lead and ultimately won by a difference of eleven points. The last match of Saturday's program offered really great mini-student basketball. The match had great parameters both on the pitch and in the stands, where fans of both camps create a great atmosphere. In the end, Lokomotiva used its experience and won by seven points at home. Górnik Airteam Walbrzych will have a chance to rematch at the home final tournament of this category.

On Sunday, Nitra will defeat Münster , who despite their great efforts could not get past the Slovak team. The Wolves from Žďár had a real desire to mix up the standings in second to fourth place, and so the Polish team Górnik Airteam Walbrzych encountered tough resistance. Žďár came out on top in the first half and the "locker room" was almost level. However, Górnik built a slight lead in the third quarter, which they maintained until the end of the game and won by a difference of twelve points. In the last game, Lokomotiva defeated Beksa at a leisurely pace, thus confirming victory in the tournament and advancement to the final tournament.

Saturday brought many close matches, right up until the first match. The derby between the Wrocław teams was the most interesting. At first, Slask dominated, winning the first half with a ten-point cushion. In the second half, WKK turned on a higher performance level and thus won a narrow victory by four points.

Sunday offered only two matches, as the tournament had exceptionally only five participants. Hradec Králové played a decent game with WKK, which confirms the bronze medal. And in the last match of the tournament, the home team challenged the Polish WKS Slask Wroclaw . Jena, excited by its performances at the tournament, did not give the Polish team a chance to think about winning and with the win confirms the silver medal.

The home team challenged MBK Karlovka Bratislava in the first match of the tournament. The home team kept their opponents within striking distance in the first half. In the second half, Karlovka switched to a higher gear and dominated the match. The next match offered a duel between the newcomer in CEYBL tournaments, BC Gurjaani Delta team, who came from faraway Georgia, and their opponent was the Slovak team BKM Iskra Svit . Before the Georgian team could even look up, they were losing by a double-digit margin and Svit gave them a beating almost as high as Gerlachovský štít (the highest Slovak mountain), which is almost in sight from Svit. The last pair of the first round was the German NINERS Chemnitz Academy and SKM Zastal Zielona Góra . Chemnitz also had no mercy on Zastal and gave them a real beating.

Saturday was full of challenges with big differences in scores.

In the first match on Sunday morning, Chemnitz and Karlovka played each other, which entered the match better and built a slight lead in the first quarter. In the second quarter, Chemnitz woke up and turned the match in their favor by several points, in the third quarter they increased the lead to a double-digit difference. However, Karlovka does not give up and with great pressure they get close to the shooting range, but they fail to turn the tables and lose by a difference of seven points. They lost to Svit, which thus confirms the silver medal. And the tournament closes with the home team's duel with BC Gurjaani Delta . Despite the loss, the Georgian team plays its best game of the tournament.

Early Friday morning offered the start of the tournament, where the home team challenged Science City Jena . Jena, who had arrived on Thursday, looked a bit sleepy and lost the match so heavily. In the second match, we had the opportunity to see a Polish duel between the teams Korona 1919 Krakow and PGE Spójnia Stargard . Stargard arrived as one of the favorites to win the tournament because after previous tournaments they could boast a balance of 9 - 1. Already entering the match, it indicated that something was happening, Stargard was losing from the beginning and Krakow seized the opportunity and built a slight lead. In the second half, Krakow completely broke away from the chain and demolished Stargard with a more than thirty-point difference. However, looking at the roster, it was confirmed that Stargard arrived at the tournament without its player leaders in this category. In the last match of the first round of the tournament, the Czech-Slovak derby took place between the teams BK VIVIDBOOKS Pardubice and BK Inter Bratislava . Beksa confirmed its role as the favorite and won with ease. The first surprise result occurred in the match between Krakow and Jena. Krakow, apparently satisfied with the win in the Polish derby, did not perform well, and Jena, excited by the defeat by Ostrava, fought with enthusiasm and overtook the Polish team like a steam locomotive.

Saturday could be called a black day for Jena, which lost twice by a single basket. How thin the line is between success and failure. First, they lost to Beksa, which was definitely happy to win, because at least the entire first half they were the worse team and, on top of that, they had a match record of 12-0 until this match, which they maintained with all their might. Jena lost the second match to Bratislava, which also arrived at the tournament with an incomplete squad, which does not reduce the performance or the credit of the players involved. The lead in the match was transferred from side to side throughout the match. However, the ending went better for Inter, who won by a single basket. There are even tears on the faces of Jena players, which I would not consider a weakness, but on the contrary, a manifestation of their love for basketball, where every loss is regrettable. So, my respect for this team, its play, performance and behavior throughout the tournament. In the last match of the day, Beksa played Krakow. Beksa gambled in the morning match with Jena and it was no different with Krakow. The first quarter was still balanced, then Krakow gained a significant advantage with its high-quality physical play. In the end, Beska managed to reach the difference of one three-point shot, but Krakow skillfully guarded the win. And another surprise is in the world, Beksa records its first defeat of the season.

On Sunday, Jena at least got some satisfaction with a big win over Stargard, who lost the chance to qualify for the final tournament. Krakow couldn't handle their match with Bratislava and is losing by a big margin. Despite this win, Inter probably lost the chance to participate in the final tournament. And finally, the match between Ostrava and Beksa. An even match was expected between two teams that already have a certain qualification for the final tournament. However, the opposite was true, Ostrava completely dominated the match and showed that they were well prepared for the tournament. We don't mention Ostrava much in the article, but they gave an almost flawless performance and deservedly won gold medals and a ticket to the final tournament, where we look forward to their performances.
